How’s it work?
The most recent Wordpress Theme Design I did was for Shashank Nigam of Simpliflying — the worlds most popular authority on aviation branding. I learned about what Simpliflying.com was and used the site for a few hours to understand its purpose. Shashank and I then discussed what it was about his old site that he liked and disliked as well as what it was that he wanted to accomplish with a site redesign. I then presented him with a screenshot of the site proposed and we went back and forth to make tweaks here and there. Once we had a look that he was thrilled with I took the design and made it into a full functioning Wordpress Theme. In the case of Simpliflying.com, there were a number of elements important to Shashank that we implemented into the site:

• Show the most recent interview on the index only
• Show the most recent presentation on the index only
• Present a slide-show like element of all news mentions on the index only
• Put a tabbed widget in the sidebar displaying top posts, comments, etc.
• Display 3 full posts, 5 post summaries and 5 links to previously posted articles on the index instead of the normal blog-like list of articles

Since the implementation of Simpliflying.com’s new design Shashank has added several plugins and really taken the design and used it to evolve his site with very little input from me. Simpliflying is a great example of how working together can take a wordpress installation and make it into something completely different.

What is PSD to HTML?
I take your PSD (Photoshop file), or other image (JPEG, PNG, Adobe Illustrator file, PDF, et al.) file and use it as a reference point to create a functioning web page. If you want it done as a wordpress other software theme, I integrate it into that software as a theme as well. I use semantic markup and easy-to-understand methodologies to make future updates as painless as possible.

Examples:
The University of Georgia does their own designs but contract out the coding so I’ve done a few for them, they’re as a good of an example as any:

Both of these are very straight-forward examples. They sent me PSD’s and I coded them into a functional design. These particular examples had few interactive elements. As for interactivity, I use the jQuery javascript library unless specifically requested to use something else.
